From the moment she first loaded black-and-white film into her Le Clic camera as a child, Kate has been captivated by the power of photography. What began as a way to document daily life and friendships has since evolved into a lifelong pursuit of storytelling through imagery.

 

She honed her craft at Virginia Intermont College and later at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she explored alternative photographic processes. While formally trained in many techniques, her journey into wet cyanotypes was a self-taught endeavor—one that reflects her love of nature, composition, and the unexpected.

 

Her work spans multiple genres, each carrying a distinct signature:

• Portraits: A collaborative and intimate experience, revealing the subject’s inner world beyond just their exterior.

• Lifescapes & Night Photography: Quiet and contemplative, capturing fleeting moments of beauty that often go unnoticed.

• Food & Beverage Photography: Deeply informed by her background in hospitality, bringing an insider’s understanding to every frame.

• Cyanotypes: A fusion of art and unpredictability, where nature and process intertwine to create something truly unique.

 

Beyond creating, Kate shares her passion through original cyanotype prints, reproduction works, and workshops. She is also available for hire for art portraits, headshots, and food & drink photography.

Through her images, she invites viewers to pause, look deeper, and embrace curiosity. When she’s not behind the lens, she enjoys music, gardening, hiking, knitting, and reading—each of which, in its own way, influences her creative perspective.
